The 98 is an early stage venture capital firm dedicated to funding technology businesses led by women. Women-led start-ups receive only 2% of venture capital dollars despite generating higher returns on invested capital and quicker exits. The 98 aims to change the funding ratio by providing exceptional women founders with capital, operating expertise and network resources to build great companies and generate superior returns.

Our Story
Our founders, Lynda and Joy, first met as undergraduates at Princeton University.
Lynda and Joy each worked as award-winning business leaders in digital media and tech at major corporations, venture-backed start-ups and venture funds.
In 2019, Lynda and Joy co-founded Brilliant Friends, an investment group focused on women-led businesses.
In 2022, Lynda and Joy launched The 98, a venture capital firm investing in early stage technology businesses led by women.
